83kg

I was shocked when I stepped on the scales this morning

83kg 😬

Not the numbers I wanted to see staring back at me

(I'm trying to maintain around 81kg at the moment)

So I gained 2kg gained in 2 days

But am I worried?

Fuck no.

I've been eating and drinking like an idiot Christmas Day and Boxing Day (I'm sure you have as well Reader)

I probably have a ton of food still sitting my digestive system

And I ate a lot of salt and carbs, which will have caused temporary water retention

I can GUARANTEE that in 3-4 days I'll be back at 81Kg

What's the point of this email, other than me confessing my sins?

(That's a joke BTW, overeating at Christmas is NOT a sin)

Well - if you're starting a diet in 2025 - you need to weigh daily, and you need to NOT get discouraged by short-term spikes in weight

It's virtually impossible to gain 2kg of fat in a day

But you can easily store 2kg of undigested food and water in your body

If you don't know this, gaining a Kilo or two in a day is enough to make you demotivated and quit

Don't

This is the #1 reason why people fail at diets

Their weight goes up by a kilo in a day, they think they've ruined everything, and they quit

You HAVE to make a MINIMUM 3 month commitment and stick at it

There will be disappointments and annoyances along the way, but you need to battle through them

It won't all be smooth sailing.

If you're not prepared to accept that, you may not be ready to diet yet

Don't worry, it's not what it sounds like (I've never set foot inside my local massage shop and I don't think I want to) 😕 What actually caught my eye was the poster on the front door "Fast Weight Loss for £10" COME ON PEOPLE. It's 2025 Fast Weight Loss for Ten British Pounds... Seriously? If it were that easy, no one would be fat We'd all pay a tenner, get our dream physique and live happily ever after We know it doesn't work like that. It's not that easy (although weight loss is very...
